Parent participation is an important part of who we are as a school. The willingness of parents to give time and talents is unique and cherished. |

Parent Association - All families are members. Committees plan the annual Fundraising events, Hot Lunch Program, Scrip participation, etc.
Monthly Parent Association Meeting
Room Parent - each class has a designated room parent, appointed yearly through the Parent Association. This parent(s) coordinates field trip drivers, holiday parties, Fall Festival participation and helps as needed.
Parent Class Participation could include driving on field trips, helping with special classroom projects, sharing occupations or hobbies, etc.
CARE Hours - Each family volunteers to help the school a minimum of fifteen hours per year. Four of these hours are dedicated to the yearly large fundraising event. Any hours not completed will be billed at $10 per hour.

El Montecito believes that to ensure a students success, a team relationship is essential between the parents-teacher-and administration. Parents should keep teachers informed of important changes in the home. Teachers communicate regularly by:
Conferences scheduled twice yearly for parent-teachers
Preschool Monthly Theme Calendars posted outside the classroom
Elementary Class Letters sent home in the weekly Wednesday folder
The Scribbler (our school newsletter) sent home on Wednesday
Poster reminders placed by the pick up fence and Preschool entrance

GRASP (Gaining Resources about Skillful Parenting) offers times of learning through special speakers, programs or book studies.

All School Events - to celebrate families and fellowshipWelcome Tea, Fall Festival, Grandparents Day, Christmas programs, Extravaganza
Date Night - a time to bring the childs Dad or Date to School
Special Speakers - for GRASP or student assemblies
Parent Fund Raisers - Boutique, Golf Tournament, Event
