Students build on their previous mastery of basic skills and learn to tackle progressively more complex math concepts. By the end of the fourth grade, students will have developed a much higher level of problem-solving skills.

Rich literature units inspire students to increase their passion for learning. Literary figures and themes are used to enrich the history curriculum and show examples of character. Students work to refine their writing skills through reports and essays.

Deeper spiritual growth comes as a result of group prayer and the study of Christian heroes. Daily singing from their hymn books becomes a natural expression of praise.

Fourth grade highlights include the Sacramento Trip, Native American and Mission Reports, 49ers Day (panning for gold), Mission Day, Book Club and Poetry writing.

Fourth grade is a dynamic year. Through a nurturing structure, students grow academically and increase their social awareness. The curriculum supports this development with many exciting projects and activities. Creative assignments help promote interest and learning for students who may now see school as a serious “job.”

Fourth grade students learn many important lessons about responsibility. Students learn how to organize their class work, how to use binders and how to keep up with weekly homework.
