Preschool

El Montecito maintains a wait list from which students are admitted to the preschool with consideration of the following criteria:
Faculty children
Siblings of currently enrolled students/alumni
Date placed on Wait List
Special needs
Individual class enrollment space
Gender balance in class
Children of El Montecito Presbyterian Church members
 

Kindergarten

El Montecito accepts applications for kindergarten beginning October 15 of the year prior to intended enrollment. Applications are accepted until February 1 or until the first 40 completed applications have been received.

Kindergarten application process includes:
Receipt of a completed application form
Receipt of nonrefundable application fee of $100 per child
Receipt of two teacher recommendations
Gesell assessment
Group screening
Parent group visit to the Kindergarten classroom

Consideration for acceptance to the kindergarten class includes the same criteria as the preschool wait list plus the child’s developmental readiness for our kindergarten program
 

Elementary and Junior High

El Montecito accepts applications to the early and upper elementary school by placing applicants on a wait list. Elementary applicants will be reviewed according to all the above stated criteria. The process also includes:
Receipt of a completed application form
Receipt of nonrefundable application fee of $75 per child
Receipt of two teacher recommendations
Testing appropriate to the grade level the student will be entering
Minimum of a partial day classroom visit and teacher-student interview
Parent interview with the Director
